Navigating the Student Portal

This guide walks students through the main areas of the Tangaza University Student Portal (student.tangaza.ac.ke).

 

Logging In

Go to the portal URL and enter your Registration Number and Password, then press Login. You can also use "Continue With Your School Email" to sign in with your school Google account.

 

The Dashboard

After logging in you land on the Dashboard. It shows a summary of registered and attempted units, your fee statement summary, exam card eligibility, your personal information, and a set of Quick Action buttons linking to the most common tasks.

 

Sidebar Layout

The left sidebar is organized into categories: Core, Academics, Financials, Examination, and Settings. Every feature is one click away from any page.

 

Academics Section

Course Registration: select and confirm your units each semester.

TimeTable: view your enrolled units with day, time, room, and lecturer.

Academic Requisitions: submit requests such as transcripts or letters and track their approval status.

Lecturers Evaluation: rate your units and lecturers each semester.

Graduation Request and Clearance Request: for finalists nearing completion.

Moodle and MyLoft: quick links to the e-learning platform and library resources.

 

Financials Section

Fees Statement: a running ledger of charges and payments.

Receipts: past payments with a Print Receipt option.

Payment Plan: track installment plans.

 

Examination Section

Exam Card and Special Exam Card: open a document viewer with your personalized exam authorization slip, downloadable as a PDF.

Semester Result Slip and Provisional Results: check your grades.

 

Settings

Change Password is available at the bottom of the sidebar.

 

Tip

If you can't find something, think about which category it belongs to. The Dashboard's Quick Actions panel also duplicates the most frequently used links for convenience.

 

Note: The "View Student Resources" link takes you to an external site (tangaza.ac.ke), separate from the main portal.
